The Member Care Ministry seeks to equip the Body of Christ at SAPC to biblically minister to one another in areas of practical, emotional, and relational need.

How We Serve

Offering your time and care can make a big difference. There are so many practical ways to serve. Here are our current opportunities to get involved:

  • Benevolence: Seeking to provide financial assistance first to members of SAPC and then to those in need within our community.

  • Card Writing: Writing personal cards to members who are unable to attend church activities or who need encouragement.

  • Funeral Planning: Assisting members in making advanced funeral planning decisions and providing funeral planning to families who have lost a loved one.

  • Handyman Services: Providing skilled/unskilled labor for members who need light maintenance for their homes.

  • Homebound Communion: Taking occasional communion to members unable to attend church services on communion Sundays.

  • Knit/Crochet: Providing knitted/crocheted blankets to members (or others closely related to our church family) who have debilitating or long-term illnesses. Baby blankets will be given to newborns in our church.

  • Meals: Preparing meals for members who are unable to prepare them after childbirth, surgery, during recovery from an extended illness, or after a funeral/memorial service.

  • Medical Equipment: Loaning available medical equipment to members in need

  • Member Advocacy: Assisting members in need with various life issues, including but not limited to budgeting and bill payment, healthcare coordination, and long-term housing options.

  • Prayer Support: Distributing prayer requests publicly through Engage emails or privately (pastors only) through the worship guide tear-off.

  • Resources and Referrals: Referring individuals to outside resources for counseling, crisis ministry, moving, and various other needs.

  • Transportation: Coordinating transportation for members who can no longer drive to church or other vital appointments.

  • Visitation and Calling: Making regular contact, either in person or by phone, with members who are not able to attend church activities. Acute care situations (such as hospital stays and surgery) should take priority.
